WoW First Aid

WoW First Aid

First aid is a secondary skill that allows players to create bandages, which can be used to heal their characters. It also allows for the creation of anti-venoms which cure characters of poisons. First aid is a secondary skill and although it is similar to a profession it should not be confused as one. First aid can be trained by any character regardless of faction and class and does not count towards the two professions characters are allowed to train.

The bandages created through first aid can be used to heal your character and other players' characters. In order to bandage another character you must have that character selected and click on a bandage. There is a short cool down involved with bandaging, after a character is bandaged they must wait a brief amount of time before being bandaged again.

First aid is a useful profession regardless of class and it is a good idea to have it trained on all of your characters. It provides a way for classes with no healing abilities to heal themselves and it is a back up method for healers to heal when they are out of mana.

The main component required in first aid is cloth. Venom sacs are used to create anti-venom, but cloth is ultimately the major component. Large amounts of cloth are needed in order to level up first aid, other than that first aid is very easy and fast to level up. There are no rare and odd items that are required to create the bandages, just simple cloth. And of course, an increased skill level in first aid provides the ability to learn better first aid formulas which allow you to create better bandages.

To get the cloth needed for first aid there are basically two options from which you can choose. The first is to kill humanoids and loot their corpses for cloth and the second way is to buy cloth on the auction house. Either way works perfectly fine, the first just requires a bit of time and the second requires a bit of money.
